Our tour
guides  were
very
knowledgeable
Our first stop was
to view a dinosaur
footprint
There are several places
where you think you are
walking on gravel, but
you're not. It's all fossils.
There are a few places
where the Corp of Engineers
made it a little easier to
descend into the gorge.
Notice the man made steps
made from natural stone from
another part of the gorge.
Many places along the
trail there are beautiful
pools of water formed
by water seeping from
beneath the lake along
with natural springs.
Some of the pools
had very pretty
waterfalls. I know
what you're thinking.
Sorry, NO
SWIMMING!
Just couldn't resist
another picture of the
many ponds. Very
scenic. These
pictures really do not
do them justice.
Beautiful fossils
are everywhere.
Sadly, it's the end of our
trip. It's up the hill, into the
cars for a short ride back
to the starting point. A
great time was had by all.
Many thanks to the
Canyon Lake Gorge
Preservation Society , the
Army Corp of Engineers
and the Flood of 2002 for
making this possible.

can be seen along the
