Southwest Gem and Mineral Society San Antonio-Home

Please excuse our dust as this website is brand new and still under
construction. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of
the latest happenings within our organization.

First of all, unfortunately we will be unable to put on our annual
Fiesta of Gems for the 2008 year. At the last minute we lost our
venue with the Morris Activity Center on the grounds of the Joe and
Harry Freeman Coliseum.

The “Good News” is. We have already secured another venue but
at this late date we were unable to book a weekend for 2008. The
next Fiesta of Gems is scheduled for late March, as usual, in 2009.
The show will be held at the Live Oak C ivic Center that, to the best
of our knowledge, has never housed barnyard animals.

Be sure to bookmark this site and check back often to see the
progress. In the near future we will be adding info on our upcoming
show, club and membership information, highlights from monthly
newsletters, links to other related sites and much more.

We have had a show for well over 40 years and having to miss a
year saddens us greatly but rest assured that we are spending our
free time this year making lemons into lemonade. Our plan is to
take this opportunity to improve our show by upgrading to a nicer
facility, perhaps adding some new dealers and hopefully adding
some more smiling faces in attendance.
