Well 2009 is finally upon us and for the Southwest Gem and
Mineral Society it will be an exciting year. After going an
entire year with no Fiesta of Gems we are in high gear
towards presenting our first Fiesta of Gems in our new
home the Live Oak Civic Center. We will have 25 dealers
from around the country along with educational exhibits,
our famous Silent Auction where you can bid on everything
from rough stones to lapidary equipment to finished
jewelry, fun for the kids and many more exhibits that are
sure to mean enjoyment for the whole family. Your very
affordable entry fee makes you automatically eligible to win
one of our beautiful daily prizes or one of our hourly door
prizes. But best of all, your entry fee will go to a good
cause. Every year the Southwest Gem and Mineral Society
uses the funds generated from our annual show to present
scholarships to area universities and to give cash prizes to
high school science fair winners. Come on out and join us
on March 21 & 22, 2009 at the Live Oak Civic Center. Whether
your interests lie in minerals, gems, lapidary, finished
jewelry or you just like pretty rocks, it’s all here at the 2009
Fiesta of Gems.
